Robert Stearns
Director of Instrumental Music at La Mirada High School in La Mirada, CA
Robert Stearns is from Whittier, CA where he lives with his wife Areli and his newborn son Aidan. He has been teaching music since 2007, starting as a brass instructor, private teacher and currently a band director. Robert is a two-time fellowship recipient from the California Music Project, where he was selected to work as a student teacher at several schools in LAUSD while completing his undergraduate degree. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from CSU, Northridge. Robert is currently working on his Master's Degree in Music Education and was selected to participate in the CSUN conducting workshop. In his time at CSU, Northridge Robert had the privilege of performing as Principal Tubist for the CSUN Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and played bass trombone in the world-famous CSUN Jazz A Band. Robert has performed in the Rose Parade, College Band Directors Association Conference, Valley Performing Arts Center Grand Opening, the Monterey Bay Jazz Festival, and the International Tuba Euphonium Association South West conference. Mr. Stearns is currently the Instrumental Music Director at La Mirada HS teaching Marching, Concert, and Jazz Band, String Orchestra, and Music Theory. Contact Robert at [email protected]
